In recent years, China’s digital interactive entertainment industry represented by online games has kept a high annual growth rate of over 30% and turned China into the world’s largest online game consumer market. With a maturing domestic market environment, the Chinese game producers have experienced a leap in their product development technologies and capability of creating original products, and part of them are ready for international competition. Most of the large and medium-sized game companies in China have developed international development strategies and put high priority on overseas expansion.

Chinese game products are increasing in the European game market. Europe provides a huge potential market with its vast landscape and multiple member countries. Meanwhile, China’s original games, due to their strong cultural features, are likely to win a large audience and market share in Europe. The Chinese Pavilion’s participation in GamesCom 2012 will help accelerate the Chinese game companies business expansion in Europe, enhance their competitive edge in the overseas markets, promote China’s original games in the European game market and facilitate the export of products with Chinese characteristics and the broadcasting of Chinese culture.
